Carroll; contract, 18 July 1865, signed by attorney Issac Nimons, with freedmen, identified by name, to work on Carroll's plantation. Letter, 3 Feb. 1868, Charleston, S.C., from A. Middleton, to Charles R. Carroll, re settlement of slave bonds; copy of ordinance, 30 [Jan.] 1868, declaring contracts for the purchase of slaves null and void. Three letters, 27 Dec. 1866, 10 Mar. 1867, and June 1869, Richmond and Charlottesville, Va., re settlement of E.C. Bellinger estate and management of freedmen.
